Sustainable Gardening Australia- Help on Sustainability & Self-Sufficiency Gardening
For sustainable gardening advice, Sustainable Gardening Australia (SGA) is the place to go
SGA has developed education programs for home gardeners, and sustainability certification for retail nurseries as well as horticultural professionals and landscapers. With this certification, community members have a guarantee that those certified are following SGA guidelines for most sustainable industry practice.
SGA is a strong advocate for produce gardens, and the Yummy Yards program advises the community on how best to grow your own. There are Yummy Yard Starter Kits available from SGA certified nurseries. There are factsheets for the kits free to download also from the SGA website

A new program SGA is working on is a Neighbourhood Gardens Program that will support local community networks of food growers to regularly meet and talk food
The groups will be able to develop their own activities or projects, and stay linked to local groups across the broader area of Melbourne, with the support of SGA.
